foreclosure

What is the name of your state? IL Me and my husband are in the middle of a foreclosure of our house. We are behind about 8000.00 including legal fees I believe. A payment hasnt been made since april of this year. We were a couple months late and we were trying to work with them (Ameriquest mortgage). They wouldnt accept any interest only payments, anything other than the full payment. Went into foreclosure proceedings, called them, all they would do is tell us we needed all late payments in full to stop foreclosure, even if we started sending them regular payments, they said wouldnt matter. Then the worst happened, husband lost his job so of course we couldnt even attempt anything. Just saw a bankruptcy lawyer who said all our debts equalling 29,000.00 not including the house, said to file chapter 7, we would arrange to keep our automobile, but as far as the house can only keep if we are caught up in the payments. What to do?? We have 2 children, and I am working fulltime, husband is starting some work now, and we do not want to lose the house, but Ameriquest wouldnt work with us? Is it in their best interest to try to get the house from us, or if with them to work on the arrears with us?? Please help

Sorry, but Ameriquest has no obligation to modify any of the loan terms.
Why fight to keep something you can't afford?
