i live in ny state i have a judgement from 1996 that i lost by default from never being notified it is for 3800 i recently went to dmv to finally get my drivers license and found out about the judgement there was an accident in fla in 1994 or 93 the state of fla dropped all charges against me because they could not put me behind the wheel my ques is how can someone sue me for something i had no fault in or should i file chap 7 to get the judgment satisfied or can i have the judgment vacated with the evidence that i have from the atty in fla [lease give me advice

Some problems with your logic:
1) Generally, you cannot file for bankruptcy solely in an attempt to void a judgment. You will need substantial more reason than that.

2) Who says you had no fault?? Just because you might not have had a criminal liability, doesn't mean that you weren't liable civily. After all, look at OJ.

3) You might be able to get the default judgment voided in Florida. Totally depends on the circumstances on service and entity. Based on your response, you never denied getting notice of the civil suit and, if service was made in the right style and you just decided to 'skip it', you probably will not be able to void the court decision.
