Garnishment and bankruptcyWhat is the name of your state? COLORADO I filed chapter 7 on APRIL 20, 2006. My paycheck was garnished on April 21, 2006 and will again be garnished tomorrow. I can't get the payroll clerk to even listen to me or look into the "automatic stay" can't afford a lawyer I filed for myself and had no problem except this. How do i get them to stop garnishing my check? I need to pay rent. Jody |

| My suggestion would be to find a way to get a lawyer. Failing that, I'd suggest a fax and a letter sent CRRR to the judgment creditor remainding them they are in violation of the automatic stay by continuing to garnish. Include the filing number and the creditors matrix with their name highlighted. |

| You need to get a copy of your BK filing to your PR department. You also need to do the same with the court where the judgment was rendered against you to be sure that any and all executions to enforce that judgment are halted immediately.
