getting married

What is the name of your state?Arkansas

My girlfriend and I had wanted to get married after the first of the year but since I filed Ch 7 and my 341 meeting is scheduled for the 9th of Dec. how long should we wait and will it affect her and her assets in any way?

It will NOT affect her assets in any way - SHE didn't file for bankruptcy - you did. However, her INCOME could have an impact if you marry before your discharge. The total HOUSEHOLD income would be figured in and that could throw you into a Ch 13 if you're already a good candidate for a Ch 7.

Thanks Lady.. she is a widow and currently not working but has an IRA and had refinanced her home, etc. I just don't want to mess things up for her.. that all will remain in her name and her son is on her bank accounts with her in case something happened to her after her husband passed away.. I will leave that all as is. I love her but things are rough enough for me.. would not want to make it harder on her.
