How long before Discharge?

What is the name of your state? IN

I keep getting different numbers. I had the 341 meeting the first week of April. It was a no-asset case, and all the creditors were major cc companies, so I doubt any contested it. There were no odd charges, or cash advances or anything out of the ordinary that would cause any problems. Haven't recieved anthing form courts, or lawyer.

No news is good news! The discharge should be issued 60 days from the 341 meeting and finalized 2-4 months later (from what I have been told)
Good Luck!

What does "finalized" mean? Basically I am still unclear on the discharge thing. Again, I have a "major" national law firm that I filed with and of-course they are quite difficult to get ahold of to ask these questions. Everything went well at the 341 and the lawyer did say it should be no problem, just wait for your discharge. Well, now I know it's 60 days so I have about 2 more weeks. I re-afirmed the house and car and have been making payments on time with those. The discharged debt were cc's. But that brings me back to my original question being "finalized" what goes on in the 2-4 months after the 60 days? Like everyone else I am sure, I just want to be done with this whole thing and start all over. I already have in a sense, but having something in writing that this is over sure would be nice.

The 60 days after your 341 meeting is the time given to creditors to file objections. If none object, then on Day 61, you should be discharged. What is meant by 'finalizing' is that the Trustee in your case must formally CLOSE the case and that can take anywhere from weeks to months depending on the Trustee's case load and other things he/she has to do. Once the Trustee officially closes your case and files that with the BK court, its 100% DONE.
