Can anyone tell me if there are any "hard and fast" rules about how long I have to wait after selling a house before I can File Chapter 7 under the NEW bankruptcy regulations in the Commonwealth of Virginia? My situation is rather complicated, so I'm trying to consider as many optional routes of behavior as possible. The bankruptcy attorney I retained recommended that I sell the house and "disappear," but I'm not comfortable with that option. It doesn't feel like a solution, just an invitation for more trouble down the road. Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.
