i filed bankruptcy in missouri sept 1991
we have been given credit since and paid off well, but now and then we are refused due to bankruptcy
is ther a way to get this off our credit report after this long?

It never goes away. After 10 years, it is suppressed. Credit bureus can then report it to lenders and employers if you are trying to get a loan of over 150k or are being considered for a job with a salary of 150k.
So, this coming Sept. it should not be seen for routine inquiries.
