Interim Questions until Discharge..What is the name of your state? IN 341 meeting was held last week, I have been given legal paperwork as far as what to expect timing-wise with the official discharge date. My question is, as of the last couple of months, I have moved an hour away from where I was originally located when all of this started, and I have moved in with someone who has a checking account there. We're not married, but have begin to really have a hard time making heads or tails out of bill allotments, expenditures, etc., while I have retained my checking account as to when I filed and with the 341 meeting. I would really like to be able to be added onto the checking account and then we would have all of our money pooled together. However, I don't want to upset any issues that may occur during the "waiting game" period. Do I need to just stick it out and wait until the official discharge is done before doing this, or should I be ok to do since we're not married? Thanks for your help!! ![]() |

| I doubt it would create any problems. Just be sure you keep careful records of deposits until discharge just in case anyone ask. Personally, I'd try and tough it out until disharge with separate accounts. |

| I have heard/read differing opinions/statements about the "waiting" period after the 341 meeting, prior to discharge. I am curious also... not same reason as OP, but I would like to get a part-time job after my 341 meeting to have some extra cash for holiday expenses... but not sure how this will be looked at if it is prior to my discharge. Any ideas? |

| Once the 341 is concluded, you're done the vast majority of the time. I don't see a parttime job as being any sort of problem. |

| My take -- if you're not married and not going to get married, do NOT give up your separate account(s). Open a joint account for the 2 of you and you each keep your own accounts. With on-line banking, accounts can be in the same bank and linked so that you can easily transfer funds from the separate accounts into a single joint account. I've done this.. its pretty easy to do and keeps YOUR accounts separate. You never know what's going to happen. You need to keep your own finances separate and only make joint what is necessary. Just my 2 cents .. from a single woman who's learned the hard way !
