need a good attorney

What is the name of your state? SC or NC

currently live in SC but plan to move and establish residency in NC within next 30-days. Does it matter which state i file in?

I need a good BK attorney in either SC or NC. One that will go the extra mile and really work for my best interest. Not someone to just file papers and be insincere. I need someone to walk me thought this. it's very scary. I've done the free councling thing and got the feeling that they just wanted to get paid and file papers....

can you help?

You're going to have to file in SC. There are residency requirements, usually 6 months, before you can file in a new state.

There's no easy way to find the type of lawyer you describe. Ask around or just set up a few consultations and see which one you're comfortable with. You could try calling the local Bar Association, and get the names of a couple of 'bankruptcy specialists', they'll know the ropes for sure, then check them out.
