nervousWhat is the name of your state?MA I have my 341 meeting on tuesday and I am married and filed for bk on my own because none of the debt is his now I just find out the trustee wants my last 8 pay stubs, the last 8 of my husband, a copy of the deed to the house which is in his name only, the last 2 house tax bills, copies of our state retirements, and our last 3 years of income tax returns and a coppy of my purchase and sale agreement on my car. when I hire my atty she looked at all this paper work and said it would not affect him should I be worried. I am sick already |

Sometimes, trustees will ask for this info just to get a clearer picture of total HH income available to pay bills. Hopefully your lawyer is correct and it won't make any difference but, you need to comply with the request.

Thank you , he also asked how I came up the figure for autmotive gas I have most receipts for my gas purchases but my husband never get a receipt and when I had my meeting w/ my atty I told her I approximately use about 240.00 per month for gas ( 1 drive 60 miles to and from work with drop off at daycare each day ) not including any errand I any need to run after work and on weekend we either have play dates or parties among other errands) and My husband drives each day further than I so I said I know he must use more gas than me) I think he thought our gas was high but the prices at the time I filed were $3.19 a galon for regular. is this unusual too???

It's not unusual for a lawyer to ask a lot of questions about their clients finances. The only way your lawyer can represent you is to have a clear picture of what's going on.

it was not the lawyer who asked for more info on automotive gas it was the trustee. do they normally ask for things like this. Everyone seems to say the 341 metting usually takes about 5 minutes, but with all the items the tristee has asked for , I think I will be in there for hours.

Trustees will ask for info if they have some questions about the petition. Just because they ask, it oes not mean anything is wrong. Just comply with the request.
