new bk/creditor's rights laws

texas here.
i noticed one of those sleezy commercials you see some lawyers put on tv.i don't know if it was just scare tactics and didn't see the whole commercial but from what i caught of it i am wondering if texas will remain as debtor friendly as it is now.
and are there actually states in which a judgment creditor can take your house and virtually everything you own.i believe i am thinking right now of the state of georgia.i do realize there are circumstances such as home equity loans that put your house in danger.
i thought the new bk laws would just make it harder to do bk and maybe make you pay back on some debts if able.
thanks for any input!

There were some PROPOSED bankruptcy law changes going through Congress, but those have pretty much fallen by the wayside for now.

They were very anti-consumer, and Congress isn't feeling all that anti-consumer right now, given the bigger terrorism issue.

Once things return to a state of "normalcy" for our nation, you can expect that changes will eventually be put into place.

But you're golden for now....
