new here....have a ?

What is the name of your state? PA

I've been lurking around here for a while. Am going to be filing Chptr 7 shortly and I have a question. One of the cc that I am filing on (actually the one with the biggest balance) was through a bank that I had an account with. In June of last year I moved my checking account to another bank because it was much closer and more convenient for me. I still paid on the card (the minimum) for about 4 or 5 months and then started paying less and less cause I just couldn't afford it any more. I have been thinking and thinking about filing BK since about Feb and have finally decided to do it. My question is.... will that be any problem as far as my closing my checking account with that bank? Like I said, at the time BK was the fartherest thing from my mind but I just can't take the stress and phone calls anymore but now I am worried that closing that account will present a problem....any advice?

Not to worry, the closing of a bank account is no big deal unless you had a LOT of money in it and it looked like you were trying to hide money .. which wasn't the case.

no, I had practically no money in that account. I truly opened an account with the other bank because of it's location to me. I did, however, deposit a couple thousand dollars in that new account which I then used to pay bills (including the cc from the previous bank) , help my daughter who was trying to move out on her own, etc**************..

I woudln't worry about it. If it was a year ago, the Trustee won't even ask about it.
