Online filing - Is it safeWhat is the name of your state? Florida I found a site online that is called Verrant Bk* They claim to have a very easy program to use. It will put info entered in duplicate places on the bankruptcy forms and you dont have to enter creditors in any specific order - the program will arrange it correctly for you. I cannot afford 1000 dollars to file with an attorney. What are the pitfalls and dangers of online filing or buying software from a book store to self file. I tried looking up Verrant Bk* with the better business bureau but it came up unknown since I can't find out where they are located on their website. Has anyone ever heard of this program or any others that are reliable. The pricing seemed to good to be true and and would not give any if on the company on the contact us link unless you paid up front. I had a stroke in Jan 05 and was wondering how difficult it would be to use a purchased software program and if they are credible. ![]() Last edited by tawnysjazz; 07-26-2005 at 09:41 AM. | You need to be VERY careful about these on-line filing places. Some of the bankrutpcy courts have ruled that these places are promoting bankruptcy fraud, and you don't need that hassle. ALL they can do is prepare you papers, they can NOT give ANY advice, and they can't help you in court. You would be far better off with a kit you buy at OfficeDepot along with a copy of the Nolo Press book "How to File Chapter 7 Bankruptcy" than taking a chance on an unknown on-line place.
