Payday loans after filing

What is the name of your state? Virginia

I filed for bankruptcy 2 weeks ago. Last week I got notification in the mail of when my meeting of the creditors are. One of the payday loan people that I included in the filing deposited a check into my account again a few days ago. This is the same people that kept calling my job even after I told them I filed. Since then the calls have stop but I still am having this problem. Is this not a violation.

Absolutely its a violation of the Automatic Stay ! Depositing that check is a collection activity and it must stop.

You need to call them and give them your case number and your attorney's name. If you're doing this pro se, the case number should be enough to make them stop. You might also want to go to your bank and give them your BK case number and ask that they put a block on ANY transactions from the Payday place.. and put a stop payment on that check number !!!

If they don't stop, you can have the BK court smack 'em down pretty hard for violating the stay.
