Payments made to creditors/90 daysWhat is the name of your state? New York When I decided to file Chapter 7, I was current with all payments for secured and unsecured debt. Therefore, I have made payments within 90 days, total is 1,442.00. My question, I have heard exempt and non-exempt payments floating around and was wondering what that meant? The 1,442.00 is the total of the payments for credit card companies that are included with the Chapter 7. It does not include payments made for secured debt, utilities, etc. Should I be expecting some of that money back? |

| You may not get any of it back, but the Trustee may go after it.

| Just curious, Why would the trustee want the money back that was paid to the creditors? Would he want to disperse it differently (for example the creditor with the highest amount due) ? I was surprised to even read about people receiving money back that they had paid to their creditors and don't need or expect any money back from those payments. |
