I was laid off from the company and returned recently. These debts have been charged off for about 6 years now. I called to set up a payment arrangement now that I'm able to pay again and found that interest on the car loan has tripled and preceeded the original principal, also a collector just started to pursued me for the credit cards. I am considering filing chapt 7. Can the company fire me for claiming bankruptcy or can they automatically withhold money from my pay?

You can not be fired due to BK as it would be discrimination. Pay can not be deducted from unless your employer is served with a court ordered garnishee. |
