please help difficulties

hello everyone (MN)

i'm hoping that some of you will be able to answer my question.

i have a very large judgement against me in for 70,000. the award was granted through default, in which they claim misrepresentation. i dont have any assest, and right now i dont have a job. this is really stressing me out here. the lawyer is now wanting to see my financial status and show all assest, which i dont have.

what can i do to fix this problem???

would bankruptcy (ch 7) by my best route???

or do you think that the judgement holder will accept a partial lump sum pay sometime down the road????

thank you for any advice or information that you could give me

It depends on the reason for the judgment. Some states have restrictions on what can be discharged.

For example, in Indiana, if your judgment was as a result of a drunken-driving accident or an intentional tort (you did something on purpose that damaged another person), then you wouldn't be able to get that discharged.

I'm not sure what the restrictions would be in MN.

Maybe someone else can join in and let you know.
