Is it possible to fil for chapter 7 bankruptcy without a lawyerWhat is the name of your state? VT Hi there, after reading a lot about bankruptcy and being to 4 free consultations with some lawyers, the general consenus is you should use a lawyer to file on your behalf. If I had a choice I definitely would use a lawyer but I lost my job soon after my wife had to quit hers due to a medical condition. As much as I don't want to do it, is there anyone out there who has successfully filed for bankruptcy without using a lawyer and if yes is there any steps to watch out for? Are there any step by step guides out there to doing bankruptcy by ones self? Thanks for any advice you can give. Cheers |

The new law is a mine field, you really don't want to do this yourself.
