Property Exemption Questions?

How is cash treated in claiming property exemptions?
I plan to file Ck 7 and have about $2000 that I need for other immediate concerns. Can I claim an exemption or go ahead and spend it, as my assets will still fall far below what I am allowed to claim.

Also, I have some business inventory that has a liquidation value of about $1000, that I could probably sell and make $5000 or more over the next 6 - 12 months. In Washington State, it appears I could claim it as a Wild Card exemption. Any comments or experience in this area?
