Questions about filing for bankruptcy

What is the name of your state? PA
I am really considering filing for bankruptcy. I really don't know much about what is allowable, if certain things can be left out, etc. I will try to explain my situation and ask questions but be as brief as possible. I am the guy in that commercial with the great house in a good neighborhood, cars, and can barely pay the finance charges. We just bought a house a year ago. I'm not on the mortgage, only my husband is, but I'm on the deed. My car lease is in his name only. Most credit cards are joint with me being primary. A bill consolidation loan from right after my divorce a few years ago has my mother as a co-signor.
My husband was out of work for a month or so a few months ago, and that started it all. We used convenience checks and the credit cards to pay bills, and buy groceries. Then my daughter had surgery, and since he just had got a new job, we had the entire yearly deductible to come up with all at once ( a no payment plan policy was the only payment plan offered ) We are falling further and further behind, I don't know what else to do.
My questions are if only I file for bankruptcy, can they go after the house which has no equity yet, my car which like I said is in only hubby's name? And the loan with my mom, I'd like pay that debt just so they don't go after her to pay. She's on a fixed income and I don't want her to be held responsible for my debts. She offered us a place to stay rent free for a year after my divorce and that would be a crappy way to repay her.
What are my options? I've really screwed up this time and could use some advice.
