reaffirmation question

What is the name of your state? Indiana

We are due to be discharged in our Ch7 in about 3 weeks. Our bank has been dragging it's feet on our reaffirmation of our car. Well the lawyer finally got it and mailed it to us to be signed and returned. First thing I noticed is that it is addressed to 2 people I don't even know at the beginning of the reaffirmation, Second that they are requesting we pay the banks lawyer for drawing up the reaffirmation. Is this normal? I mean our lawyer is paid off and I had never heard of having to pay another lawyer to draw up papers like that. Thanks for any information.

No. That is NOT normal.

Your loan reaffirmation should be for the same amount as before, at the same interest rate and the same monthly payment amount.

I have never seen a creditor charge for writing up the reaffirmation agreement. They're usually thrilled that someone wants to reaffirm, rather than give the property back.

Tell them you want to reaffirm but refuse to pay any extra fees.
