My previous employer repaid loans outstanding I had against my 401K with a previous employer (about $25,000). I received an email from COO (with incorrect dates, by the way) that the loans were being repaid and I would be asked to sign a contract for repayment. I told him (verbally) that I did not expect to repay the entire amount, as I expected a good portion to be bonused out because I was already taking a cut in pay to join this company. He said they would work out something. A little later (a couple months), after I inquired about bonus money (we were promised 15-20% of our pay annually of which I rec'd about 1/100) he came back to me stating they could bonus out dollars as the owner agreed to it as it was "already spent money"…no amount was fully specified. What chance do I have to win this case? Thank you. |
