Repo's

What is the name of your state? Michigan

I have a vehicle that I am currnetly financing through Wells Fargo I sent in my payments on time the finance company said on 4 occasions that my personal checks were dishonered. On the letters that I recieved I never was charged an insufficient fund charge for , I went to my bank to see what was going on I found out that the finance company never presented the checks to my bank. Then the finance company sent me a letter stating that I owed 788.00 past due amount so I paid it certified check and overnighted the payment with a signature reciept, put my account information on the check, and sent a copy of the letter with the check. I thought that would be sufficeint enough and would get up to date with our account.Unfortunetly the company said that they never recieved the check. And I know for a fact that Wells Fargo did recieve it but the department that I sent it too said they never got the check. I have written documentation supporting my claim a post office signature verification sheet that I downloaded a copy from the Post Office website. After I sent the payment I recieved a letter a few day's after stating that I owed almost $2,000.00 in back payments even after I sent the above mentioned amount of money. The company said that they never recieved the 788.00 and then repossesed my car. I had to argue with a customer service agent about the 788.00 and then faxed a copy of the check and post office signature verification to them. My wife and I then had to pay the repo fee and the impound fee afterwards which almost totalled to 500.00. What get's me is that my wife had talked to the incompetent employee about what would've happened if they credited the account properly and they told her that they would've never repossed the vehicle. Now since that I co-signed on the vehicle I have this on my credit report. Is there anything I can do to at least get the repo off my credit report and recover the impound fees or at least partially collect?
