I soon will have to go to court and will be asked to reveal my assets in order to show if I have the financial where-withall to pay the debt. The Plaintiff tried to seize my bank account, which is joint tenancy with rights of surviviorship(JTWROS)with my wife, and the bank returned the attachment order UNSATISFIED. My question is this: If the bank returned the attachment order unsatisfied as assets were JTWROS, can I assume that my house and car ar safe from seizure, as they, also, are JTWROS?
I owe approximately $4600.00 and have calculated that I'm likely looking at a $150/month garnishment. Do you think the enforcement of the judgment can and will stop here; or, is it likely to include personal things like home, car, furniture, etc...? |
