Should I Get A Lawyer???

What is the name of your state? AZ

Thank you, dorenephilpot, for answering my OLD DEBT question.
I know you are busy and I know that you are not representing me and are just offering generic advice, but here I go again...
I welcome response from anyone who may be able to give me some insight.
We are filing for relief from a huge $$ amount of debt, which includes all the regular medical (etc) PLUS $600.000.00 from my husband's personal signature on a failed previous business. We were not married at that time and his ex-wife already filed a chapter 7 on those.
(I am actually doing the work, since my husband is currently unable) It will be approx $800,000.00when I am finished listing...
We do not own a home, boat, art etc.. Since we don't have any secured assets (besides "bad credit - high interest" car loans which we are upside down in), I am planning to file this without an attorney. I have talked to a couple of attys, who have said that my BK will be a "major red flag" because of the huge amount of debt involved. Is that true? Are these lawyers just trying to get me to pay them a thousand dollars (or more)? I bought a kit and have painstakingly listed each and every creditor (50 pages) Should I get an attorney to file for me?
Also, I am not quite sure what to do about the 6 judgements against us. They are quite old. Do I file a Motion to Vacate at the same time I file, or what? There are some other people listed as Defendents on a couple of them.
This is nerve wracking, but it will be wonderful to actually see the light of day. Thanks again.

For a bk of that size and that many creditors, I'd say a $1000 on a lawyer is money well spent. Particularly with old judgements and, the need to get them vacated.

I completely agree that an attorney is needed here.

If you are at all unsure of what you're doing, do the smart thing and get someone who knows what they're doing to handle it for you.

Get someone who does this regularly and who you personally feel comfortable with.

Best of luck to you!
