| 2 options - bring the account current, or file for bankruptcy. Assuming you can't bring the mortgage current, filing for bankruptcy will immediately stop a foreclosure. However, assuming you are behind in the payments, a Ch 7 may not be possible if you want to keep the home. Ch 13 would allow you to put the arrears into the plan and keep your home.
