Are there any options to foreclosure

Do I have any options? Wife lost her job in July 2005, stayed current on mortgage payments until September 2005. Wrote letter to mortgage company explaining situation. Wife got job in November. Wrote mortgage company to try and bring account current. Was told that loan had just the day before been sent to foreclosure attorney and I should call back. I have received letter from attorney that I am default and I responded to his letter with my situation. Have been told by friend at court house that foreclosure has been filed (12/19/05) but as of today I have not been served. I have sent letters requesting to bring my loan current.

Received letter from mortgage company that I needed to supply proof of income and default letter. I did this. Today I received letter stating my request to reinstate was denied because I failed to send the documents of which I did. I also last week received notice that my escrow surplus was over $1000 and they were retaining that money because of my loan status. I wrote letter asking if the escrow could be applied to my default and me pay the rest which is $500. No response.

I want to keep the house and with the 2 incomes, I can afford it. Is there a mortgage company that will refinance the home so I can pay off the foreclosure loan or what is going to happen with the foreclosure. Thanks for any advice.
