What if my Debts are not from the US ?

What is the name of your state? Hawaii

Hi,

I am a legal resident of the US (Green Card). I was living here almost all my life until my Grandmother got sick with cancer in Germany. I went to Germany to take care of her and made debts there that are forcing me into Bankruptcy. Can I file for Chapter 7 since I don´t have much to give to the Company´s I owe to. Or does Chapter 7 only include Debts made in the US. Please help, at the moment I can´t afford an Attorney.

Thanks,

Gunni

My response:

Are these American credit cards, or cards issued to you in Europe?

Und Naturlich, Sie haben eine Konto mit Deutsche Bank. Werden Sie eine 'guess' probieren wo Deutsche Bank andere Banken besitzt?

And does the card issuer have a US 'presence'??

Bottom line... a US FEDERAL bankruptcy will only apply to debts that are valid in this country. They will NOT affect a debt that is 100% foreign.

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

My response:

. . . which was the point I was trying to get to, but for our writer's lack of response.
