The Whole Truth and Nothing But?What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? NV I'm filing pro se this week and I just spent several hours down at the courthouse reviewing BK7 filings to see how the attorneys do it. I must have looked at 50 BK7/NA cases and 90% of them listed very low dollar amounts for home furnishings, clothes, etc. Some as low as $10 for clothes; $200 for home furnishings. Most of the attorney-filed forms didn't go into much detail about the nature of the presumed exempt assets. For example, simply: Home Furnishings ..... $1250. And only a couple of people listed more than $50 in the bank or in their wallet. Most declared zero cash on hand. Now since I didn't just fall off the turnip truck I'd speculate that some of these dear souls aren't being completely straight. Yes, you should be truthful and as accurate as you can be, but you probably shouldn't sweat the small stuff. If you don't give the trustee any reason to be supicious, he/she probably won't be. Senior members please jump in and comment. |

| Most states require that at the time of filing you can only have a MAX amount of money in all bank accounts(check/sav) and the amount is only about 100-250, depending on the state...

| My trustee was asking some people he was suspicious of, heck I was suspicious of them, to produce a copy of their bank account the day they filed. A few had to have an appraiser walk through their home and value their items. I truly believe honesty is best, especially in a situation like this when everything can be verified. |

| I fully plan on having zero cash on hand when I file... 'cause I plan on filing as soon as I have enough to afford the filing fees. As for the other values... Most people here will tell you, use 'garage sale' prices. They should add, "But be realistic. Nobody's going to buy all your shirts for five cents a shirt, and all your movies for a dime each." |
