Wife filed, will it affect me?Texas - Texas - I am currently involved in a divorce and we are filling a joint tax return. I do not want to do the immediate refund, due to my wife filed personal bankruptcy, a few months ago, and we are married and that would put both our names on something at the bank...correct? We have never had anything joint to this point, so her bankruptcy should not show up on my credit report...right? Should I file a joint tax return or not? HELP??? ![]() |

| Why not file married filing separately? It might be for the best. Any joint accounts may come back to hurt you that she filed on, or anything that she may owe you. Sometimes it bleeds over but you should be able to correct it if that happens.
