Will I have to move again???What is the name of your state? Ark. Making this short. Thinking it was regarding my own bankruptcy nightmare, I accidentally opened a letter that came to my new (rental house) address, but then realized that it was for my landlord instead of me. Seems that my new residence is being foreclosed on and is to be auctioned within the next week. I signed a year long rental contract with my landlord just two months ago, none of this was ever mentioned to me. Can they make me move or will the courts have to honor the 1 year agreement???? |

| You have a lease, so that does give you some rights and you may not have to move again. On the other hand, if the landlord rented it to you with the knowledge that the property was in foreclosure you may have a way out of the lease. HomeGuru would probably be the best one to answer that possibility.

| Look no matter who owns the property wheter its your landlord then bank or the new owner, the rent must be paid EACH month on time or you could be evicted. The lease does go with the new owner. So dont make it worse on yourself, just make sure you pay the landlord with a check, and make copies of it before you give it to him, or if the bank asks for the rent, make sure you get a certificate of mailing from the post office..all of 75 CENTS....to cover your butt. |
