| My husband purchased a vehicle in Indiana. He was no longer able to make payments and his uncle (the co-signor) declared bankruptcy and included the car in the bankruptcy. The car was turned into a tin can. My husband carried the bankruptcy for 7 years. about two weeks ago we recieved a letter from a collection company wanting three times the amount of the purchase price of the vehicle. In the last 8 years they made o attempt to contact us. I believe you said the S.O.L. in Maryland (where we live now) is 6 years...which made me very happy. Are we covered by maryland law because we live there, or are we under Indiana S.O.L. because he bought the car there? |

It makes no difference where you move to; the S.O.L. follows you from where you signed the agreement.
