What is the name of your state?
New York.
My question is this - I started a free language exchange club in NY where bilinguals can "trade" languages - http://www.geocities.com/newyorklanex/. I ask all members to sign a waiver which basically states that they can't sue the club for any reason - http://www.geocities.com/newyorklanex/waiver.pdf.
One of the members told me that the legality of my waiver is questionable because everyone is entitle to protection under the law and I'm taking away that protection by making members sign a waiver stating they can't sue the club. Also he claims that while I take away their protection under the law with the waiver I don't offer anything in return.
Can he possibly be right? Or do I have the right to ask the members to sign a disclaimer which prevents them from suing?
