I was shopping for an auto insurance and have agreed to the insurance company verbally and they issue me an insurance policy number. Once I received their applications and I have found out that they are requesting paper that I could not supply such as my son's driver training certificate (happened 4 years ago). Based on what I read on small prints, that could affect the rate and at their monthly rate quote at best equal my current rate and at worst even more. So I decided not to return the application and there is no signed contract between the insurance company & me. However I start receiving bill demand to pay the cancel premium and their threaten of legal action. Do I have abided contract and do I have to pay them? (edit: the state is CA)

Looks like nobody take it eh ???
That's what I expect in this kind of forum ...
Anyway, I have talked to my lawyer friend in Washington State and he comments that since I asked for their coverage, I am binding and liable for tthe premium.
This follow up is reference for some lost souls in the future ... Adios
