What is the name of your state? Illinois
I was living with two friends for a few months. My name is not on the lease. I ran into financial difficulties and had to leave. Am I responsible for future rent? Does my payment for past months constitute an agreement to pay rent for the tenure of the lease? We all moved into the apt at the same time, and I payed 1/3 of the security deposit. When I left, I gave them my last 400 dollars. I left the second week of January 2003.'

THank you for your time

If you aren't on the lease you have no legal obligation to pay. If I were your friends I'd be pretty ticked off though.
