What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Georgia

I won a case in magistrate court, last September 2008. The case was a breach of contract and the damages was for $8000.00. The Defendant filed an appeal. I call the State court at least once a month to see if a court date has been set. It has now been about 10 months, and still no court date. Also, when I do a search under the case number, and name, nothing comes up.

Is it standard procedure for a case to take this long to be put on calendar in State Court? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
