I'm from New York State. A leased automobile was stolen and found in Mass. The insurance company sent a letter stating that the auto. was totaled. Four days later, they telephoned that the had made a mistake; the auto could be picked up, and they are going to send the money to do so.
The owner does not drive long distances and is elderly. After stating, in a letter, that the vehicle was totaled, do we have to take that vehicle back, and do we have to pay storage or go pick it up. The insurance is comprehensive.
Shouldn't they have the responsibility of returning the vehicle to Rochester, New York? Shouldn't I be able to request another vehicle without being penalized for the milage?
