I salvaged a recreational vessel (28 foot Bay liner) that was in danger and a danger to other boats during the hurricane last week and I want to know how what to charge for a salvage award. Can I figure a dollar amount on the damages that were saved to the other boats? And, once I gained control of the drifting vessel (that did do some damage to 1 of the nearby boats) I secured and re moored it in the basin but since then the owner has came and moved it. Since I do not have physical possesion of the boat and the owner was not around when I salvaged it, what kind of rights to the vessel do I have to the vessel and any award?
