What is the name of your state? SC, but problem occured in FL.

In 1996 a person who is diagnosed with a mental disability, (schizophrenia, with severe episodes), and has been recieving disability from the VA and SS for this disability since before this incodent occured, was married and went into a car dealership with his estanged wife. The salesman told him he needed to cosign and not realizing what he was doing, did it. Now the car ended up getting repo'd. This man never had possession of the car, nor drove or had anything to do with it. Finally to present day, he finally managed to purchase a home and the company that got the judgement placed a lien on this mentally disabled persons home. Of course they are not aware of his disabilty. He is unemployed and lives soley on disability. Question is, is there any way for him to get relief from this lien in any way, there must be hopefully. Also I think liens run out in 10 years in SC. but if there is any way to get this removed please let me know. thx for this board, it really provides help to those who need it..thank you

P.S...the lien statue of limitations does that start in 1997 when the car was repoed or does it start when lien is placed..?
