Car Lease

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Nebraska.

I Had a lease with Chrysler Financial on a Jeep. The lease had 3 months to go on it. I dicided I would liketo try and trade it in early because I didnt like this Jeep. The dealership-WHICH CHRYSLER OWNS- P Jeep,Chrysler,Dodge, is where I orginally leased the Jeep from.Chrysler also owns- P Ford, Toyota and Volkswagon dealerships too.I asked if since P is owned by Chrysler if it could be WORKED OUT with the remaining lease payments to be applied to a P Ford dealership car loan WITHOUT ANY TURN IN from my lease. The turn in fee was if I didnt perchase a vehicle from [Chrysler] that is what I was told. P Ford made out all the paper work [and I signed them] for the loan on a 2005 Ford Escape.I didnt get to take the car home at that time because they said it had to be detailed[cleaned and inspected].This was on a Friday. 2 days went by and no word about the car I just sighned papers for. I finally called P Ford on that Monday, they told me I wasnt approved for the loan. That was all they said. So I waited a week and tried to go back to Performance Jeep ,chrysler,Dodge to see about getting approved for a loan there on a brand new car. They too also denied me!! And this is where I leased my Jeep from in the beginning.
I left and did not talk to them again!!

The next weekend, I went to RE Ford and was APPROVED for a 2009 Ford Escape with no money down.

In the mean time P Ford went on thier own and resubmitted my application for a Brand new 2009 Ford Ecape with out calling me up for the permission to do so or to see if they could do this for me .After the first loan denial, we were DONE end of story. They had no legal right.
P Ford told the Ford finance company that I would put $500.00 down on a NEW CAR .NO WAY DID I TELL THEM THAT. They just took it upon themselves to go without any permission and resubmit with false promises to Ford about my application.

When I was approved at RE Ford they said that P Ford messed it up at first for me to get approved for a loan with out $500.00 down. Ford had said I was approved at P Ford on a 2009 for Escape with $500.00 down at thier dealership. Ford finance had to honor that offer every where I was to be approved for a Ford loan.

Thank RE Ford for working things out with Ford financial, I was approved without any money down on a New 2009 Ford Escape.

Well to get to the main point-RE Ford cut me a check for the remaining lease payments on my Jeep. And return I cut Chrysler Financial a check for the same amount. I had wrote on the check " PAID IN FULL FOR LEASE #-----------.

It wasnt entill after I bought the new car that Chrysler sent me a letter back saying I still oued for turn in fee and some late charges.
But Chrysler denied me for any loans, so why do I still have to pay for the turn in fees? I thought for sure they would except a settlement.

Since I wrote on the check PAID IN FULL and they cashed it, doesnt that mean they excepted that as PAID IN FULL?
