Car lease contract

Question:

My daughter (of legal age) leased a car and signed a standard leasing contract. But the dealer inserted a clause (in pen) 'subject to father's approval'

I never saw the contract and of course never approved it. My daughter subsequently defaulted on the payments and the car was repo'ed.

My question is - is the contract valid since I did not approve it?
