What is the name of your state? Ohio

I hope I am posting in the right place.

My grandmother and I purchased family talk plan from Cingular wireless.
I added text messaging to my phone. 500 mess. for $9.99 mn.

The text mess. did not work it would say message was sent but mess. was never received.
I called customer service on 2 diff. occasions and they said it was fine.
The text mess. never worked. I could email though.
I requested for text messaging to be removed from my account in Nove.2002.
I quit trying to use it. At this point I sent maybe 50 mess. which where not received and around 10 emails that did go through.
Dec.2002 I dropped my phone which splattered to several pieces and still remains this way.

In Nov.2002 bill was over $300.00
In Dec.2002 We received a bill for almost $300.00
Both phones where disconnected
In January 2003 the bill was over $300.00
In Feb. 2003 the bill was over $200.00
All just for text messaging.

We tried several times to resolve this issue.
Issue remained unsolved. We called customer service and they stood by the fact that this bill was correct. We broke contract with them and was then charged $300.00
They mailed out 2 huge envelopes of vogues #'s and times these messages where sent.
I called one number that most of the messages where sent to and the number is not a working number.

After studying this, according to the timing these mess. where sent I never even slept.
Messages where constantly being sent and received!
It was our word against theirs- correct?

We have been sending them $100.00 a month on a bill that was not even ours.
Yesterday we received a letter from a collection agency.
After calling them we discovered that Cingular demanded the owed amount in full and we had to pay it all within 2 months.
which is around $700.00 remaining.
We had been making timely payments on this account.

My question to you is this legal?
Is their anything we can do about this?
Any other suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks to all in advance.

Sounds like its pretty legal to me...why?

Becuase you are a DUMB broad who paid the bill!

Thats right.. any normal person whould have never even sent them a dime, so by sending the money you have acknowleged you owe it.

see how totally stupid you are?

How is it so dumb to keep your credit report clean?
Maybe it was stupid to pay a bill that was not yours but if you don't want negative on your credit report what choice do you have?

DANG calm down and get a grip!
Seems to me you are not VERY SMART!

Maybe you need to seek anger management!?!
