I had merchandise in storage and now the company has changed names and is under new management and now want to sell my belongings for past due rent
Can I stop the sale of my belongings becasue the old compnay has been dissolved

No. The new owners likely bought the previous owners assets and debts. Your past due rent is a debt and they have the right to collect it based on the rental agreement you signed.
