What is the name of your state? Texas

Hello,

Are there any Texas consumer protection rights that apply to the purchase of animals? We purchased two Doberman puppies that turned out to have a severe genetic bleeding disorder, von Willebrand's. With normally accepted laboratory values being 70 to 150, one animal's value is 8 and the other one is 10, meaning that they are severely affected. One puppy died shortly after receiving it and it does not look good for the other one.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

This depends on where you purchased the puppies. Did you purchase them from a pet store or from a breeder? Are they papered? Have you notified the seller of the animals' condition? Need more information. Also, go to Texas Attorney General site and look under consumer protection. They do not resolve individual consumer issues but will educate you on consumer protections in the state of Texas. http://www.oag.state.tx.us/consumer/consumer.shtml
