A friend of mine was living with his girlfriend and they purchased a car together. The loan and title are in both their names, she's the cosigner. Now they have broken up and he is trying to sell the car to a friend. She has not made any payments on the vehicle. Under North Carolina law, is there a way for him to sell the car without getting her involved or to have the title changed to his name only?
