What is the name of your state? Arkansas
I signed a two year contract with a health club that was only void if I moved over 50 miles away from the club. I moved to NC and mailed the club a copy of my new liscens and a pay-check stub from my new employer as proof of the move. six months later I received a letter from a collection agency claiming I owed $500 for breech of contract. I mailed the agency a copy of the contrace with copies of the NC liscens and pay stub. They responded that I still owed $80. I mailed them the money (after the required 30 days) and they posted a derogatory statement on my credit report for an unpaid balance of $500. I never owed $500, I paid the $80 they claimed I owed, so why will they not change my credit report to show I only owed $80 and it has been paid?

fix!

Just contact your major credit reporting agencies, with a WRITTEN disputal to the mark. The company that has reported you then has 30 days to provide legal proof that you owe the money, or they legally have to REMOVE it from your credit.
