This question is being vigorously discussed on a egroup site I belong to. The cruise ship Norway blew a boiler in Miami and the cruise had to be cancelled. There is a poster who arrived in Miami only to find the cruise had been cancelled (several crew members died). This poster is adament that he be reimbursed for airfare since his vacation was ruined. Apparently, this was not a fly/cruise, the passenger made his own air arrangements. Other posters are saying that because the passenger flew to Florida specifically to take the cruise, he should be reimbursed. Reimbursements were made for the cost of the cruise, but not the air fare since the passenger had made his own arrangements. Other posters insist that since he arranged for his own air transportation, the cruise line is not responsible. Is the air fare made separately consider part of a "contract" with the cruise company.
