We took possesion of a 2004 Durango on August 2, 2004. We paid the dealer $10K in the form of a cashier's check for our downpayment. They assured us they could obtain financing through Chrysler Credit despite our dismal credit history.

Three days later, we signed our first contract, they kept assuring us that financing would be settled and not to worry about it.

We kepted in contact with the dealership and they had us come back in on August 18th to sign another contract. We asked if there was a problem and they kepted telling us that Chrysler Credit wanted the dealership to reduce the "price" by 5K because the vehicle was a demo. No they didn't want more money from us.

Last Friday, I took my car in for a detail they promised because the vehicle was trashed when they gave it to us. We also asked for new tires because they had almost 5k miles on them.

They refused to change the tires and did a ****ty job on the detail. In the heat of the moment the Sales/Finance Manager told us that financing had not been secured and they could just back out the contract.

In the end we agreed to wait until monday to give the owner a chance to call in a favor on the financing with Chyrsler Credit.

Well Monday came and went and no deal.

Today I talked to the Finance Mgr and he said they were trying to secure the loan through and individual. They were negotiating the interest rate and were
waiting back for an answer. However, this lender will not report to the credit bureau.

So what good does that do us? We can't rebuild our credit.

We have put 4k miles on the vehicle. I have two special needs girls who go to therapy every day and specialists 2-3 times a week.

Another dealer told me to expect to pay two cents per mile. Is this normal or can they charge more per mile?

Also, when the dealer gives me back my downpayment, shouldn't it be in the form I paid them?

Thanks
