What is the name of your state? Michigan

I'm not sure where to post this. So, I have posted it in a couple of places.

My wife was in a hospital for 45 days. Her insurance ran out after 30 days. It is the hospital practice to inform patients when their insurance is going to run out. Neither my wife or I were informed.

Due to hospital practice I believe that there was an implied contract between the hospital and my wife that wasn't fulfilled. I have found plenty of case law on Detrimental Reliance as it applies to employment but none pretaining to medical. Can anyone assist me?
