What is the name of your state?I bought a security camera system with a 1 year warranty from a Florida company. One week later the product breaks. I call the company for service and it has now been sold and has been taken over by another company who won't honor my warranty on a 2 week $600 item. Do you believe this? What's the law in this situation? Anybody have any ideas? thanks.

If you bought with a credit card, call the CC company and dispute the charges. The product doesn't work and the service contract is non-existant - you didn't get the product/service that you paid for.

Call the company's new owner. Find out if they bought th ecompany or just the assets. If they bouht the company, then your warranty is a contract with them and they are obligated to honor it. If they bought the assets, then get the name of the previous owner.

Sue whomever is responsible in small claims court.
